The ACMS Midlands Medics Gala
A black-tie night for medical students and doctors - awards, dinner and dancing, hosted jointly with 7 fellow ACMS societies from across the Midlands.
Why the gala exists
Lincoln ACMS built the Midlands Medics Gala around a simple gap: there was no platform bringing African and Caribbean medical students together across the Midlands - no night dedicated to networking, food and partying with medics from across the region.
That matters more once we become doctors. How far a network reaches often decides how a career unfolds, so creating a space for future doctors across the region to actually meet each other felt necessary, not optional.
We also know that navigating medicine - portfolios, specialty choices, everything beyond the curriculum - can be daunting with few people who look like you to ask. So the gala brings senior doctors from our heritage to share the wisdom of their own journeys, alongside current students doing outstanding things beyond medicine, to show just how high the ceiling can go.
Hosted jointly by the ACMS societies at the University of Lincoln, University of Nottingham, University of Leicester, University of Birmingham, Aston University, University of Warwick, University of Sheffield and University of Worcester. Exclusively for medical students and doctors.
